EGR system on 07 5.9
I have never seen any info on the internal EGR system present on (is it 2004.5 - 2007) 5.9 trucks. This is the reason my oil goes black about a mile down the road from changing. My 2003HO would keep the oil clean for quite a while. So the question is can this system be bypassed or is it cast into the cylinder head. I remember years ago plugging off air pump holes in car cyl heads. Is this similar?

Yes, it is done with the cam, stock turbo, pistons, and 3rd injection event. You can get past the first two, but not the last two. I still have black oil....LOL

The cam closes the valves on the exhaust earlier, trapping exhaust gasses in the cylinders... Better than an external EGR system, but more of a pain to get rid of.
