Hows the smoke with the smarty pod? Also is it best to have an aftermarket pump such as a fass or airdog if running the smarty? Also is the smarty pod downloaded with the REVO or TNTR tune or can you just get on the internet and download them like the quad boxes. Thanks guys

Yes it will effect the speedo. If you have a gps, it's not a big deal. If not, just set it accurately, then record what the RPM's are for what speed...

The smoke depends on what mods you have. I can black out an intersection with the smarty on 3, but I have a lot of fuel... a lot of the smoke depends on your right foot and the TQ management/rp settings on the smarty...

Interesting read. Looking through the mags, the idea of the Edge with the included gauges was very appealing to me, to keep from cluttering up the truck. However, it seems like there is quit a large following of Smarty (Jr.) users here, so it seems on couldn't go wrong with the Smarty. It doesn't seem like the Edge 'monitors' are as good as a set of true gauges either?

I just don't feel like installing them all.

Dave, definitely go with the smarty. As for gauges, i have a scout from quadzilla, works pretty good was less expensive than doing conventional gauges...just depends on what you like. FYI though, with a stock transmission i would be very careful..the power is addictive and all you want to do is turn it up till the tranny can't take it anymore then the next thing you know your dropping $5k + on a tranny
