Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. I call that process business. Buy low, sell high. That's why I bought mine quick last night before someone came along and decided to do that! If I had the money laying around, I'd do it myself.

Those nozzles do not have a coated needle. We went down this road back in 2006. The scuffing and wear could start early in their lifespan, which could be short lived.
I know it will seem biased. The CR injectors are expensive. As well as the engine they are being installed in. Saving money on a product in this case could cost big dollars later on.

I just fixed up/replaced a set last month. They lasted two months for this guy. No coating on the needle makes these things scuff like crazy. Once they begin sticking, the needle can hang open and dump fuel.
ULSD makes it even harder for them to last even a medium length life.
I understand budgets and perceived value are different for everyone. Please dont shoot me................

No shot intended... I only wish I had half the knowledge of these injectors as you do.. Mater of fact I cant wait till I can afford a set of your flux 2's. I hope he's glad that you pointed the problem out. But if thats what he wants and can afford that on him
