Hey Gary C, welcome back! I have gotten into a dangerously high EGT situation a couple of times pulling in the mountains. If I hadn't had a pyro guage, I could've melted a piston. IMHO, an EGT guage, at the very least, is cheap insurance. I should mention that I do have mild injectors, and that could have added to the high EGT. Still, cheap insurance.

Gauges are the first thing I added to my truck and I do not have any power upgrades yet. I think they are a must if you tow or add power.

Truth is it does not matter what brand. All analog gauges need the same inputs and all digital gauges need the same. After you choose which you want analog or digital you are looking at basically the same install no matter what. The digital gauges will use sending units which you will have to install and wire up and the analog gauges will need hard connections to each item to be watched.
