Hey Gary C, welcome back! I have gotten into a dangerously high EGT situation a couple of times pulling in the mountains. If I hadn't had a pyro guage, I could've melted a piston. IMHO, an EGT guage, at the very least, is cheap insurance. I should mention that I do have mild injectors, and that could have added to the high EGT. Still, cheap insurance.

Gary, you might want to consider running the elbow with the EZ. The elbow will allow you to run higher boost pressures which will help control the EGTs.

I second the yes to guages and yes to the elbow.

Gauges are the first thing I added to my truck and I do not have any power upgrades yet. I think they are a must if you tow or add power.

I had everything on my 01.5 but just wanted the cockpit to be simple, I guess that's not going to happen.

do the guage pods that go on the drivers side winshield post remove the handle there? Without step bars, I pretty much need that handle to get it!

If you want to keep it looking clean the X-Monitor for BD is a good option, that was the reason I went with it, looks like it belongs.

I want to keep the grab handle so that's why I ordered the Westach combo gauge in a single gauge pillar pod.

Truth is it does not matter what brand. All analog gauges need the same inputs and all digital gauges need the same. After you choose which you want analog or digital you are looking at basically the same install no matter what. The digital gauges will use sending units which you will have to install and wire up and the analog gauges will need hard connections to each item to be watched.
