Edge EZ - Is It Really Worth The Money
I'm trying hard to convince my wife that I NEED an Edge EZ. So....for you guys that have them....what kind of gains are you seeing and do you think it's worth the $475??
What other similar options are available besides Edge??

#1 - I'm not worried about that. At the rate I'm going on racking up miles I'll be beyond my warranty mileage almost as soon as I get around to #2.
#2 - Don't pretend you're not in the same boat. BEGGING and PLEADING is probably more appropriate terminology though.

Hey Hoss, I don't know about the 3rd gen's, but with my '99 I wouldn't want to be without it now that I have one. I was just looking for a little more umph pulling the fiver and a bit quicker when I hit the go pedal. I'm complete happy with it. If you are the type that is going to be wanting the mega horses and torque, go with an adjustable box like the Edge Comp.(do they have the Comp for 3rd gen's?) or the TST, etc.

Hoss, I had the comp on mine and I loved every second. I hated selling it. Only reason I sold it was cause I fried my tranny (pulled a load on 4x4 with the wire hooked up). But since you've got the 6 speed, you should be plenty fine. If you want it, I'd say start putting a little money away each month from your paycheck. That's how I bought my new gauges.

Hoss, strongly consider an adjustable box before you drop the coin. One good thing is with an adjustable box you can have guages and protection from harmful EGT's which may be a good feature to show your wife.
I am truly greatful my gal loves what I do with these trucks.
She asks me what the next mission is and wants to test it out!
As long as I am not robbing from the mainstream for the family I am good to go.

Well, considering how much time and money it takes to get that kind of power gain in a gasser, it's well worth the money. As soon as you mash the pedal once you will believe it is money well spent. I was watching "Trucks" a few weeks back and they were putting an Edge product on a Duramax and it came with all kinds of extra stuff like a monitor for inside the cab. You could also change the power settings from inside the cab. That's what I wish I could get for my truck.....
