I have had an Edge EZ programmer in my truck for a while now. I got it after a friend of mine told me how much he liked his. I have tried in on all the settings and have had to unplug it once because my truck was idling over 1000 rpms. Sometimes the truck will run like crazy and other times I feel like I need to do the Fred Flintstone to get her going. Could my programmer not be working right or is it something else.

First thing I would do is check your connections and make sure they are good. Some guys use dielectric grease to help ensure the connection.

I'm not by any means an expert on these trucks but if I had a loose connection would my truck still run at all?

Disconnect the edge and run it and see how it does. If it still does it, then you know the edge is not your problem. Then hook the edge back up make sure the connectors are secure and then try it. The truck would still run if the connections were not good on the edge.

Do any of you guys have info on if the edge ez is really worth the price. I have 05 4x4 i use for work i do no pulling but average 500-600 mi per week any help?

You could get a Smarty Jr for just a little more money. I would go that route. The EZ is a pressure box. It might do a very little timing and does boost fooling but its pretty pricey and not a good primary box in my opinion. I have one, and use it, but its almost always on the lowest level.

Injectors are expensive and I try not to use pressure all the time if I can help it.

What he said^^^^ not a great primary box. I got one used for pretty cheap just to play with it. I keep mine on level 1 and "might" put a tailgater switch on it. I would go for the Smarty Jr.

What rail pressures do you see with the Edge EZ on level 1 at steady throttle and WOT? Do you feel that it really gives 40hp/150tq on level 1?

I think for the 600 series motors, level 1 is like 20 or 25hp... Thats what I leave mine on. I have no idea if it actually adds that or not. With mine at WOT w/o smarty in the mix (stock ECM) but with upgraded pump I see 24900 to 25000.

Wifes truck does the same thing with a stg.2 floor-it cp3. Also has an EZ on it running on level 1. Thats with flux 2 injectors.

Im not really sure.....i just got it a couple days ago and have had my trailers behind me the whole time. Throttle responce seems a little better off the line but I would guess at WOT it would be around 23kpsi and cruising with trailer at 75mph its at 12k-13kpsi.

Not worth the price if your buying new. I got mine used for $200. I plan on stacking it later with a Smarty.

Pressure only--no timing.
