Easy Walbro Install

Easy Walbro Install
Well I went a little different route than most. Instead of installing the full kit, I ordered the pump & mounting kit from G.D.P. (Thanks Richard). I installed the pump in the factory supply line at driver's side frame rail. I left the fuel tank alone and continue to run the factory lift pump. I installed a cp3 by-pass just like "trik" and "streetsmoker". I installed a standard bosch relay to run the pump and feed it from the cigar lighter fuse (12v. switched). The pump performs flawless and holds a constant 22psi at idle. I couldn't be happier
All for less than $200.00

Let us know how that works in the long run. Most say the in tank pump will live longer than the fuel filter mounted ones, however lack the fuel pressure required. The only issue is the fact that the walbro may be starved for fuel from the factory pump (the walbro will pump a lot more than the stocker) If the stock one ever fails it will kill the walbro also (it might not but no fuel it'll over heat)
Dropping the tank isn't hard at all. I did mine with just a socket, really easier than you think. The hardest part honistly was getting that stupid electrical connector off the top of the sending unit. Other than that, easy.
