Dynoing a 05 48re?

What gear do the auto guys dyno the truck in. My understanding is I can't lockup 3rd gear if I tried to dyno. In what gear do I come closest to 1:1 ratio. Thanks in advance.

Just dyno in overdrive. That's what I did, and it comes out pretty good.

To hammer or not to hammer

On the dyno,...do you hammer it or take off kind of easy and then hammer? I thought you were suppose to run on the dyno in TOW mode?

The reason I asked is the #s should be duplicated by all of are trucks. My truck has 4.10 gears so I will have and advantage with tq multiplication vs. guys with 3.73. If I am dynoing in 3rd. once again I will have an advantage in tq. multiplication. For the guys who go to the dyno days what gear is the norm.

isn't 5th ear on the 6spd's 1:1? If so, then dyno in 5th. If it's an auto, there is no way to lock out OD and get a good reading. If you look at the dyno, you speed up slowly, wait for od to get in and converter to lock, bring it up to about 1,500, then roll into it to prevent a downshift. If you floor it, it will downshift.

2005's "Tow/Haul" mode does not lock out OD like the 04's do.
