Ok, I'm convinced.
I also called the tire shop I use and they said they would repair a tire with the beeds.
They, of course, recommended against there use except on very large hard to balance tires. I wonder if the loss of income for regular re-balancing and rotations might influence their recommendation.
I ordered the beeds.
