duramax trash talk

[QUOTE=StrokeThisCTD;1803089]looks to me like you own a 6.4l......or....no you dont.
None of you own one yet you bash it. The magazine may have put it down but to be honest i dont really care. a V10 tried to outpull me on my trip to texas this weekend and i just let the cruise do the work. My truck never shifted down but i could hear his truck screaming for mercy.
You dont own one. you are a magazine boy taking whatever the magazines say bad about the Ford or GMC and using it against them but if they say something bad about the dodge you will just say oh well my friends uncles sister has one and it doesnt have trouble.
I had a CTD before this truck. The CTD no doubt has more low end and pulls trailers better but this truck has no problem holding any speed up any grade.
Im not talking from magizine experience I was talking real world since my brother drives one everyday and I have access to it, Neither the ford or his 06 have tuners on them either both completely stock like stated in my post.

This is a wild post.. I have one of each,(not a ford though, couldnt force myself to own one of those) I have the truck in sig, which didnt allways have a 1000+ hp. I used to tow the same 5er that I have now with it. I now have a 07 classic duramax LBZ allison combo. Now dont get me wrong, I love my dodge and I think that there is many things about the dodge that is better, fit and finish, toughness being just a couple of them, but to be totally honest, I would prefer to tow with the chevy than the dodge. Im not sure what my durmax would dyno at with the edge evo that I have on with dual exhaust, Im thinking in the 350 ish range, (I only run it on the 65 hp range) but with my dodge when I was towing with it I had a bullydog power pup, MBRP and afe intake, and it was around 375 hp. The chevy will go up the same hills on cruise, wereas the dodge would kick out of cruise on some of them,, close mind you, and not something that I would even panic about, but still it just didnt quite tow as good. The dodge got better fuel mileage however, by a considerable margin. And going down the hills the chevy wins hands down, the allison's tow mode rocks for holding power,, I dont really even feel the need for an exhaust brake now.
As for racing,, well there is no competition, the duramax is just plain fast. I raced the dodge with the above combination, 15's all day long,, the chevy with just a diablosport tuner (120hp tune) no exhaust, no air, my 450lb 5er hitch in the back, my tool box full and my wife with me, ran a 14.68. If I would have taken the weight out, easy 14 flat or maybe even a 13.9. And that was with very conservative launches, as I didnt feel like dropping the torsion bars.
So all in all,, I think that the cummins is a much tougher engine, pulls well, works good, but if you want a real nice tow rig, and want to be a weekend warrior or just a street fighter,, the duramax is the way to go.

14.2 % higher speed unloaded, 4.5% higher speed loaded.
DM still wins (with an 800 lb weight advantage and less rotational mass, but happered with the higher rear end gears, so not sure how all that plays out), but by much less loaded.
