A dumb ? about exhaust and AERO4040

I had the standard Aero4040 muffler installed on my truck sometime back. Removed the muffler/cat....put the Aero where the CAT was...
I loved the sound but was just too much drone for me while towing on long trips. After about an hour, I was ready to murder someone. It had to go...switched to Donaldson....
All in all, thought it was a great muffler and sounded pretty darn good. The drone while towing was what ultimately made me change it up. If I didnt tow, I'd still have the Aero as daily driving and running down the interstate....it sound was just fine....

I welded the 4040L to the downpipe, thoroughly cleaned out the cat and welded it on to the Aeroturbine, and welded a 75* turndown to the cat under the rear of the cab.
One-piece stainless steel exhaust, TIG'd together, breathes extremely well, no drone and awesome sound... passengers have commented on how distinctive the turbo sounds - especially during gear changes.
Best fringe benefit: the void vacated by the stock muffler and exhaust under the bed is now filled with the 10 gallon 304SS water/meth tank, plumbing and pumps!

I have been running an aero 4040L on my 06 for 30k+. I have been very impressed. I did the muff removal kept the cat and installed the 4040L as close as possible to the cat. Black Cloud Diesel sells a kit for $389+/-. The other day I found the same kit at Pure Diesel Power for $319. The kit includes the muff, pipe to make up the diff. removed and 4 exhaust clamps. Deep throaty sound at idle and acceleration. Not annoying like a straight pipe.

PM Runamuk on here. He has a 4040XL behind the cat in place of the stock muffler. He also has the Aeroturbine tip welded to the tailpipe. Personally, I think it sounds good.

I have the Aero 4040 on my 2001 truck and stuck it inplace of the cat and muffler. In other words the only thing that is on it is the Aeroturbine, and its not overly loud it sounds really good.
