Well if the price is locked why can you buy a smarty jr. from an ebay store brand new for 438?

the only way you can buy a new smarty on Ebay is from a private seller (as dealers we can not sell on ebay or sell less than retail price). Ebay has put a hurtin on many businesses. I also just got a dealer agreement from Bully Dog last week that has MAP pricing. It keeps the playing field more level and keeps the throat cutters out.

we are not here to start an argument on pricing. they are set and for a dealer to maintain the agreement, there are rules to follow.

There is no reason to be mad that I payed 100.00 less for my s06 than what you pay here on DTR.......
Nobody is Mad at you for paying less, the problem is that ALL the Dealers are required to price them the same or they lose the right to sell them. If a Dealer does not honor his contract with his supplier then he is dishonest and not worthy of ANYONES money.

From Mads own site : No authorized Dealers on Ebay!!!
Be Careful! Only Smarty purchased from Authorized distributors or dealers receive direct assistance in USA. Smarty purchased from non authorized dealers must be sent to Italy for assistance. Expensive shipping and a very time consuming process.

Please tell us who sold you that one?

Then all of this starts up top....
Say Bob wagner sends a shipment to Billy Bob@ 625.00 each, Billy Bob discounts them and sends them to Joe Jack, ect ect ect.
At the end the discount is given to the customer.....

That is where you are missing the point. Billy Bob is NOT allowed to discount them, if he is caught discounting them, he will no longer be an authorized dealer.

If you buy from him you have no USA warranty.

I have received 2 messages from you, the problem is we work opposite business hours. I work 9 -5 Eastern Monday thru Friday while your day starts at 7PM.

If you order from the store I will see that it is shipped via US Postal Service so you do not have to pay the huge UPS broker fees. If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot me a PM

thanks guys. First off, ordering on-line is fine with me but I have a few questions that need to be addressed first ... and I was told more than once to make sure I phoned the order in to get the best price. Totallyrad, I would have PMed Larry (?) if I knew how or who? There is no email address on the DTR store page that I could find and I don't know Larry from Harry, Barry, Jerry, Terry or Carrie ... yet. Don't know why I can't get a return call like you did Ghost Ram ? I just thought I'd try support this site when I can but that's ok if it's not possible. Hopefully somebody will have/find time to take my money.
gus's 03, thanks but I have family down in S.Carolina for the month so they can bring it back no problem. And too much money here. It'd still be cheaper if I drove down there and picked it up myself.
John Halter, that's funny ... you mean you get a free chocolate bar with the Smarty Jr?
Those that recommend Bob Wagner ... thanks but without a way to contact him it isn't much help to me. I've been around here for a while but I don't know many here by their real names ... haha, not sure I want to.
Lost Lake, thanks, I appreciate it. I'll check for PM and hopefully I can spend some money and get this thing ordered. Anxious to get my hands on it now!

I am not trying to argue, But someone is discounting them....
The consumer should not be punished because Billy Bob decided to discount them....

That is like buying your new truck, Jimmy Joe wants 45,000 for that new ride,
Or you can go down the street and buy the exact same truck from Linda Lue for 39,500.... WHAT ARE YA GONNA DO LARRY.... Do you understand my point....

What you are NOT telling these guys is you want me to call after 7 PM, sorry but having been saddled with 2 Family Funerals since Christmas week, what little off time I have had has been tied up with family commitments.

I understand your point, you don't care if you have a warranty or not, you just want to save money. But the rest of these guys need to be able to purchase theirs from a dealer that won't leave them swingin in the wind when they have a problem.

Also you have to consider that the Dealer that is discounting them, is dishonest. If he is dishonest in that aspect of his business then it is not a big leap of faith to assume he is dishonest in other aspects as well.

They all know the rules they must follow to be a legitimate Smarty dealer and if they don't do so, then the customer (YOU) suffer in the end.

So what is this warranty that smarty gives? I'm unfamiliar with it and how does mads determine where you bought it at?

I am not trying to discredit your statement, but nowhere on smartypower.com or mads electronics website does it say you have to buy from a authorized dealer to have a valid warranty.

Even if they did end up pulling your warranty, that would be VERY poor customer service. If it is MADS product, they should stand behind their product regardless of where it was purchased or the price paid.

My .02 of course.

Actually it does, it clearly states that if you buy from someone that is NOT an authorized dealer, you will have NO USA support and must ship it to Italy.
