dry or oiled filter??
Im looking at buying a AFE stage 2 cold air intake. I see that they sell a filter that does not have oil on it. Can someone give me directions on what to get or some of the benefits of either?

I just got my Prodry S in yesterday to replace my PG7. I think the PG7 would filter fine dust slightly better but there is more hassle with it.
I got the dry filter so I can have two filters. When I need to clean one, I can have clean one sittin by and simply replace instead of takin half a day for it to dry.
Also, I just wanted to compare the two filters.

I also have switched from the AFE Pro Guard 7 to the AFE Pro Dry S for my Stage II intake. It seems to flow a little more air than the Pro Guard 7 and I suspect it filters a little less. I will pull it every 10k or so and do my white glove test on the intake tubing. I am just lazy and it should be easier to clean. I now have an AFE Standard filter, 2 AFE Pro Guard 7 filters and the AFE Pro Dry S filter for my Stage II intake. I think that is enough filters for a while.

John, you still run an outerwares with the prodry?
I am gonna install mine in a little bit and run it without the prefilter first. Then after I clean my prefilter I will reinstall.
I am pretty sure AFE said that the prodry filters just as well as the PG7 in the corse dust but last I heard they hadnt tested for fine dust yet. I doubt it could filter quite as well in fine dust just cause the oil SHOULD pick up some of it. However I am no filter engineer so I dont know.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Call Larry here at DTR, ordered mine yesterday. My understanding when you buy here you help support the site, and I got it for well under $100. Win win for everyone.
