I don't know why I never though of modding a Tag trailer to a mini GN. Brilliant!
Minni Gooseneck---------I wouldn't retro fit it to actually look like a real Gooseneck----BUT----- just incorporate a 6-8" offset into the tounge of the trailer and install another Hitch Coupler onto the end like factory! We are talking about a Tag-Along Enclosed Car Trailer Right???

It would be a Mini Gooseneck! SoCal, the only problem I have with those bumpers is that they are so "squared-off" unlike the Road Armor ones. ALso, I wasn't going to keep the factory receiver. I was going to go with one of the adjustable Superhitches as discussed in the "Towing" section.

I would have someone fab up the drop hitch and have someone fab up quick disconnect mounts for it that support the drop laterally. Maybe some big hiems on one end or the other of the lateral bars to make it easier to connect and disconnect? I will try to find pictures... There are a lot of big trucks around here that run a set-up like that.

Okay here is a pic of the basic idea... Obviously it wouldn't be this extreme!

Thanks CrashCade, but since I want to keep my air hitch, and my truck looking clean; I think the previously mentioned idea of modding the trailer tongue is the way to go. That way, I don't have to mod the truck at all and since my truck will normally NOT be towing, it makes more sense to mod the trailer.

I had an 18" drop on my 95 dodge. It really took it's toll on the hitch. Was on the way home from the lake one day hauling my 21 foot boat. approx 3000 lb on trailer. Stopped for food and happened to notice drop hitch was not angled as much. looked under truck and saw the problem...The extended drop hitch put extra pressure on the hitch and was tearing it off the frame. That was a slow ride home, wrapped the safety chains around the bumper just in case.
