I'm at 115,000 and original ball joints. I replaced the track bar with a Thuren at 75k and I had the rear u-joints at about 80k. I put 35's on when the truck was new and the 6" lift and 37" when the truck had about 40k. I didn't feel any difference between the 35's and 37's. The power adders made up any difference and then some for me. I don't tow very often, but when I do it not a big deal.

I have 37's and 3.73's with an auto. If you are stock you will feel a little sluggish starting out, once rolling it's not that bad. If modded correctly you'll hardly notice.
When I tow, I just lock it in drive and it works out perfect for me. (I don't tow very fast 60 mph)

How did you add an overdrive ??? Who makes it ?
They quit making these in '94 or '95, but still make smaller units for Model A's, etc.
Unfortunately, my OD stripped a gear pulling into my driveway Saturday. I tore it down, and 4 teeth are missing off the main drive/input gear
I bought this from a member on here about 6 months ago, and was told it had been just rebuilt with only 500 miles on it. The internals of this unit are comparable to a Class 8 truck transmission, and Mitchell conservatively rates it for 35,000 pounds GCWR. I've never abused it, and only pulled heavy (23k) twice.
I called Mitchell, and no more parts available... Needless to say, I'm pretty bummed right now, and don't know what direction to go. Gonna be heading out to be pallbearer in Grandmother's funeral tomorrow, so it's gonna wait awhile.

I had 35s with 3.73 and got tired of having to tow at 120 km/hr to be in the sweet spot. I tow in the city so lots of 80-90 km/h. Sucks. Switched to 4.10s and love it - plus now I have the option of going up to 37s and having the truck run in the RPM range of stock.
