I have two tranny experts here at the shop that work on nothing but dodge trannys. They are the one that put my gauge in for me and that is also where they recommended it go. It was not recommended just because it was the easiest because i had the line and all fittings to do the tranny line as well. Upon research into the 48re trannny as well as posting on this and other forums the test port was the logical location with no chance of leaking because of cut up lines over time. Don't get me wrong in thinking I am saying this is the only way to do it it's just the best way that I found to do it and I have the same temps readings as all other ways that I have compared with.
