Draining the Rail

Tried the standard REVO yesterday. I got a popping sound only on sw9 under WOT. Sw7 has no problems.

Decided to try TNT REVO on sw5 then sw3 today and experienced same sound but not as bad on sw3. Am I draining the rail with my stock cp3? Has anyone else had this problem? Will a modded FCA help?

yep, that's the ( not good sound ) of the rail being drained. A modded CP3 would be recommended. I don't think just modded the FCA would help much.

So, am I the only one that is able to do this with the REVO's? I thought that a stock cp3 would be good for almost 600hp.

I was able to make my truck pop with my old modded pump and my current stix. RP was at 5k or so when it happened at WOT.

Yes it does have a rail gauge but not sure what it reads when it pops. Too busy trying to keep my eyes on the road. Will try to look in the am.
Are you trying to get a modded FCA?

I could see that happening with your sticks but mine are still stock.

well actually i would be fine with just a correctly functioning stock FCA because of my mp-8. This is if i stay where i am but yes im gonna mod my pump and get a modded FCA to get a lil more out of it. but in your case i dont think that just a modded fca would do it. Im with triton, with no prerssure adder i think you would have to be looking into a pump...

As John or JD can tell you every truck acts differently to different FCA's. I cant say why one guy runs 600hp (seems high to me) without drainin and the next guy says his happens with mostly stock parts.

My truck appears to be one of the picky trucks that changes alot. In fact there was enough change in mine, that when I left the truck at floor it for about a month they used my truck to test fca's. That could be the reason?

what kind of head pressure are you seeing in front of the IP with the Glacier pump?

obviously every truck is different, but I'm able to run the TNT/R on 9 and my TST on 4 with Flux 1's with a bone stock CP3 and a FASS 150 in front of it (bypassing the OEM filter/water sep)

if I hit it at too low an RPM, I'll lose rail and the pump can't catch up, but if I hit it just right, it'll hold 22.5k and run HARD

I have a 555 truck also

With the Glacier pump and big line kit, I see 17-18psi. Under WOT it will drop to 14.

It will only pop when I hit it low in the rpms even on sw3. If I roll into it, no problem.

It happens so quick that on my rail gauge on the Commander will only drop to about 18-20k then it will pull through it and recover.

I will probably reload the standard REVO for now and keep it on sw7 or maybe go back to 4.4.
