Downpipes

I'm looking for some thoughts and info for a downpipe upgrade. I see that MBRP sells two types, one that goes on the elbow and one that goes on the turbo. Either one comes in SS or Alum.. Do I need the cast elbow or not?
If so, then I'll get a 04.5-05 elbow. Does it matter what material it is? I what to upgrade the exhaust first and all the 4" systems mount to the factory elbow. I know my elbow is 3.5.

Thanks for any input.

Get the 4" one that eliminates the elbow or you're just wasting your money..

I installed the 2005 elbow on my early 2004 so that I could later replace it with the 2005 Pacbrake. I now have a 2005 Pacbrake with 2005 factory down pipe to tail pipe exhaust system. Because it is a early 2004 that didn't need the cat I used a MBRP cat elimination pipe. Works great and is 4 inch turbo to tailpipe.
