down pipe vs. side exit exhaust
i have an 03 with a six inch stack turned down in front of the rear axle, there is quite a bit of cab noise and was wanting to take it out the side behind the rear wheel, will this reduce the in cab noise???

I run a 4in out the back no muffler or cat and it's loud as heck if you outside the cab but inside it's not much louder then stock unless the windows are down.
The cab must have a nice smell to it being the exhaust is right there.

Yes it will reduce the interior cab noise if you run the exhaust out behind the rear tire & have it exit to the side. You will hear some exhaust noise (if you are running straight piped) but it should be way less noise than it being dumped right under the truck.

I run it turned outside in front of the rear wheel. As for noise, it's almost as quiet as stock from inside, and outside it's loud as hell. I run no cat and no muffler, and only when you romp the hell out of her does it get loud inside. Run with the windows down, and you will smile the WHOLE time
