Donaldson/megacab/resonator photos.

Here is a photo of the inside of the stock resonator. It is striaght through, 4 inches. So I left it in.

It is hard to tell that it is straight through, but it is. What you see at the end of the pipe is the bend in the tube right above the axle. This photo was taken looking up inside the resonator after the muffler was cut off in front of it.

Here is after a bunch of banging. I started with a long prybar, then with a approx. 2.5" pipe, then a 3.5" pipe. The metal inside is pretty thick and hard to bend. One of the 4 folds has a welded seam in it, so it was pretty resistant to bending. It is ugly inside, but it is striaght through. The seam is still a little pointed, but the 3.5" pipe wobbld around in there freely.

So, how does it run? It is totally quiet. You can't tell the slightest diff. in noise level. There is no drone at all. At any time the engine noise is lounder than the exhaust. Even going up a hill that is next to a wall it is quiet. I can go through 3rd & 4th full throttle with the right rear window down, and it is still no louder than stock. Power-wise, it has a little more power (definetly noticeable) and most of all, on the fwy, it does not have that light exhaust brake/plugged up feeling to it. The pedal feels much smoother. My last truck had the longest magnaflow, there was still a drone. I constantly thought my phone was vibrating, but it was not. That bugged me.

Cat? We tested it w/and w/o the cat. I could not tell a difference. Before leaving the muffler shop for good, the cat was reinstalled.

Of course after running around with the other truck on performance mode with the Superchips, the truck still feels totally slow to me on the stock computer.

Hope you all like the photos.

Do you have gauges? Did you notice a reduction in EGTs?

Hey Garcia. No gauges yet. It is weird looking in there. The resonator is all sooted up. The inner 4" diameter tube is just a perforated metal, a bunch of little holes. It looked exactly like the perforated tube inside of the muffler. I just ran some errands. It definetly revs a little freer & looser. It feels better part throttle too.
