Donaldson 51" M090535 muffler. Not quiet, but not bad! NOW WITH VIDEO
Wanted a straight through muffler about as quiet as stock, and in reading posts and searching, the Donaldson 51" M090535 seemed to fit the bill. I retained the stock 4" pipes but used some reducers to go up to 5"(as this muffler has 5" ID pipes), and then back down right after the muffler. I also made the exhaust straight through by removing any other restrictions that were in the way and could be clogged..
So, fired it up and YEAH, not as quiet as stock. I do think I like it though as there is no drone, but below 1800rpm there is a V E R Y deep rumble. Very smooth though just VERY deep..
Above 1800rpm at highway speeds you can tell you have non stock exhaust, but it's quiet enough to not drive you crazy, and I am a freak about this after going through about 15 trucks and hotrods... Hate the droooone...
Anyone wants pictures or sound/video let me know...

I thought the 51" Donaldson would be too quiet but the way you describe it makes me think it is exactly what I want?!?!?!? now I dont know what I want
if you make a sound clip put the cam on the dash and take it for a burn...that's where I put mine for my sound clip so it would be good to do the same for comparisons....thanks for posting this

Got some vid for you all..
I would say that the video is pretty realistic, but the muffler maybe sounds a bit more loud in real life.
At idle, there is a slight "flutter like" wind noise you can hear(which I don't like), but I'm being REAL picky. Is kinda like the noise you hear with a pinched tailpipe... In the last part of the vid the idle sounds REAL clean and hollow, but that small flutter sound is there in real life. It does sound good though don't get me wrong..

51" Donaldson
It does have a throaty, very deep resonance to it. Really nice touch with the "curb cam". It's still too loud for my "rock concert and seven years with the '99 impaired ears" I'll leave mine stock. Thanks,Don.
