Does Quad Race and Tone Ring Mod = too much timing?
Have done the tone ring mod (not the Rokktech) on my 305/555 and ran it without a box for a while. I have recently installed a Quad Race box. I have been reading and it seems that the Rokktech timming sensor is ok with the Quad Race. I was wondering with the Tone ring advanced all the way to until the balancer bolts stop it is this too much timing advance. By the way the truck runs fine. Thanks.

I ended up backing my TRM off just a little. Once it got cold out I was getting too much timing rattle and I didn't like it. I will probably advance it again next summer but my mileage is still up so I guess it's still advanced enough. I still get a little of the rattle but I run a 180 thermostat and while it was about 32 degrees yesterday I noticed that my truck never got above about 170 degrees. I may put the stock stat back in till summer....

Thanks! I am getting some rattle also. I wonder if this will cause damage or just makes the quiet 3rd gen engine sound like the old 2nd gen? Don't want to cause any durability issues.
