Dodge screwed me today, and Ive got ?'s
Ok, so about 2 weeks or more ago, I got put some ***** Nelson BIO DIESEL in my truck, as the lady at the counter said "as long as it has a diesel engine you'll be fine". Well, I knew better, but did it anyway. I knew my GDP 392, fuel filter, and in line filter wouldnt like it once the bio diesel broke up some of the sludge. Well actually I figured Id just change the fuel filter and I'd be ok, but I think thats just what I wanted to tell myself, as for some dumb reason I wanted my truck to run off of french fries.
Anyway, as my truck had started to stutter earlier in the day, I was on my way to get my filter changed out when, clank....clank, clud happend. I was stopped in the middle of the road. So I cycled my keys about 10 times, it fired up but sounded really sick, so I threw it in gear and gave it gas. Well it pretty much stuck wide open bouncing off of the rev limiter. I then called a tow truck, but got tired of waiting so I fired it up. Ran fine for about another mile or so. Then clank clank.. and kept running all clankity!
I told the dealership to only change the filter, then they proceeded to tell me how many high fuel press codes I had thrown. I told them of course it did, I have a GDP 392 and its gonna read higher than stock (but I left my quad race smoke mod switch on cause I could never tell when it was on) He said, its reading 27.5k at idle, and I wouldnt be suprised if its been dumping fuel in your crank. Also he said it wouldnt start with my Quad sensors in. So they removed it and it started up ( not sure if it is broken or needs to be sent in now), and I dont know if they erassed my Smarty program or not, it seems to be there, but its on lvl3 so its hard to tell.
Anyway, I knew it was still clinking and clanking because it had codes thrown, and once they erased them, it would run fine, and I was right. I just feel stupid for not erasing them myself, and getting out of there with just the cost of a fuel filter. Just sucks loosing $89.99 when you know whats wrong!
Go ahead.. tell me how dumb I am,,,.....go on now... do it!

Oh and my questions are:
-Would my smoke switch mod show 27.5k fuel pressure?
-Did my Smarty get erased? if so can I still put it back, or am I gonna have to talk to mads and see if they will hook my smarty back up?
-Did I do any permanent damage to my GDP 392?
-Should I also change the little $12 inline filter that is an option to the 392?
-Could something have happend to my quad box like the dealership was saying, they said it wouldnt run with it on. Its worked fine for many a mile, and for it to stop now would be weird? They dont wear out do they?
-If there's no clanking now, my injectors should be fine right?
Sorry for all of the dumb questions, Thanks!

not sure
Im not sure it was a Quad problem, but I just dont know why after all of this time, it would mess up now???
They said it wouldnt run with the chip on, and they only chip I have is the Quad race, and its disconnected right now. So I guess you could be right with it being the Quad!

Well that is true! I can say that the only other thing that could make it read 27.5k is if I installed the GDP bypass valve in the wrong way, but I was so scared of doing that, that I made SURE!
Its got to be the Quad then!...but I'll double check the GDP 392!

It could be a bad FCA valve. If this gets stuck or messed up, it'll make the cp3 push full pressure at idle.
The glacier kit won't make crazy high pressure like that. If you unplug the FCA, it'll max out also.

They didnt tell me, I guess I'll have to look at my ticket. My FCA could have stuck? Could it have stuck from using Bio diesel and not changing my filter quick enough? My therory of what happened is, the bio diesel de-gummed my tank and lines, clogged my filter, and possibly pushed some debre into my injectors or CP3/FCA I guess now..
What do you guys think?

WELL I dont know if its just me trying to find something wrong or different, but I keep thinking my motor noise is a hair louder, and feel the motor running a tad more through the steering wheel.
Do you guys' think I could have damaged something by running it while it was clanking? I dont know if any of you have experienced the cummins when it isnt running properly, but it goes clickity clank!

yes all that mud could cause the fca to stick if it isnt caught by the filters. but removing the quad will not correct the fca, so that rules it out. you said the dealer screwed you? how? they didnt void your warranty for having too many toys on it, so how did you end up screwed?

any place is gonna charge you big $ just to look at the truck. you might be lucky they didnt void your warranty. at some point im sure thats all there will be for diesel fuel is that bio crap but for right now I stay away from it.
