Do I have to weld AERO4040XL on?

i just got my aero4040xl in the mail today and my aero 4-5 inch tip(DT4050C). I am putting the aero4040xl where the cat is. Will it fit over the existing 4 " exhaust or will it need to be welded on? I was wanting to slide it over existing exhaust and use 2 pop rivets to hold it together and then slide a 4" step/bandclamp overtop and impact the clamp tight. can i do this or not? seems like the aero is same size as exhaust?

Why wouldn't you put the aero muffler in place where the old muffler was? Replace the cat with straight pipe. Also, two 4" clamps will be fine to hold it in place. The muffler should have came with two clamps. For the tip, I would weld it on, maybe two one inch welds oposite of each other will be fine.

Yes it will slide on. But welding it on (if you plan on it being a permanent addition) is the right thing to do, in my opinion...I did weld mine on.
