Is the DIY CP3 mod worth it?
I am thinking about taking my CP3 apart this weekend and doing the DIY mod. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with this? Will it be similar to the stage 1 pumps that provide 30% more flow or will the flow gain be minimal? Thanks, Tom J.

If you do the full mod (fca and gear cover) it will be similar from what i understand. As far as being worth it, its free! go for it! It was very straight forward and can be done in an hour. Just clean up the fca VERY well and you will be good

Not similar to a Floor It stage 1. John goes inside the pump too. Just be careful with the FCA, because if you get too big or the wrong shape, you will get surging and then you will need a new FCA.

Maybe not, i asked this question a while ago and the consenus was about 15-20% over stock. i dont know anything about the floor it cp3 , but i know other companies advertise 30%. Thats why i said similar, not the same.

I have heard that it is not worth it to do it, if you make one tiny mistake, you are gonna buy all new parts...
I'm not talking it down, and I have heard of people doing it and it working for them, just know the risks. Most people that I have heard of that do it, it ruins their idle.

Id just buy a spare FCA so if you screw it up you can put it back to stock
Some people, like others said, have idle issues afterwards...
Most important thing to remember is deburing it really really well, because if you scrape up the inside of the cylinder where the FCA goes you might have some problems...

As long as you are careful and stay away from the tip of the triangle your good. its not hard and if you are clean and careful you will be fine. it defin. helps and hey, if you screw it up just get another fca. i have seen them for less than $100.

When I did mine the fca allen wrench screwed up the oriface that holds the plunger thing(forgot the name) and even after SEVERE polishing I still had to take mine out and polish some more. My mileage went down also. I sent the whole thing to john to do a stage 2 when it ws all said and done but now I know more about it. It was worth a shot.
