DIY 5" Turbo Back to 7" Single Miter
#16
I used something similar to paint my motorcycle exhaust- the cans looked very similar, but I think the paint was rated at 1000*.
Also, with that ..ahem.. blockage in the cat and a hole saw sitting right there........ how could you resist :-p It'll be welded together.....

all the tubing is painted with the 1200* flat black stuff your talking about but the stack is done with the 500* gloss black because that is the highest temp gloss black I could find and I wanted gloss not flat
as for the second part of your question all I can say is "no comment"

Looks great!
Where are the all done pics!?
And a video
Only thing I might question, is the cat location...
I believe it has to be in the factory location(or close to it), not sure if theyll raise a stink about it or not, heck in Texas they dont even look anyway

Ok here are some pics
Note because of the dang t-bar clamp the stack is not up to cab hight in these pics like it should be...it also makes it "lean" a little because I had to tighten the clamp down so much...it will all straighten up when I get the other clamp.

One idea could be to tack the clamp to the stack, then paint it.
But I know you are waiting for that other clamp. Other than that, make sure there is a hanger on the underside, supporting the weight of the pipe/stack.
Then all the clamp in the bed does is keep it from going side to side, no weight hanging down on it to slide down...
