Dipricol EGT gauge problems???

i have the Dipricol Optix gauges, and mine, and a buddies gauges seem to not be reading right, mine wants to hang at either 4, or sometimes 8. and i can be cruising at like 45 and it will be at 1000. and sometimes when gettin on the interstate it will go to 1200...this is even "Stock" tuning too....and my buddy just got his lastweek, and is stock, and his gauge hit 1400!! running like 50mph....so, u think its the probe or what could it be????

A lot of EGT gauge issues stem back to getting a decent ground (while others don't).

I have the same gauges, never had this problem, but it would just decide to slowly go UP, like up to 1100* while sitting still. I suspected the thermocouple but re-did my ground and haven't had an issue since.

well you better check them out before you buy something else. isspro gauges are not very good. my truck runs warm but its an automatic with a big charger. I have never had issues with my gauge. so you may have a bad one but the ones ive had have always worked good for me. my truck will get very hot and very fast if I have all my stuff on or if I am pulling a trailer. but my truck is not setup to tow very well. where do you guys have your pyro mounted at? some guys put them in the elbow and others put them in the manifold

When you guys installed the gauges did you keep the grounds seperate? One ground is for the motor (inside the gauge) and the other is for the gauge. If the grounds are not seperate (and good) the gauge will do silly things.

We pulled a few and sent them back to be tested and they all tested fine. Turned out we were in a rush and tried to use a common ground.

Seperate the grounds to a good location and see if the problem persists.

Never heard this but I can believe it. I ended up running the ground for my amp box directly to the drivers side battery to avoid any possibility of it being an issue.
