A different exhaust system.
Allright, I may have asked this before, but in a thread that was not related. I have heard of this thing called a dump, and uncorking the headers. It was used on Trucks on Spike TV for the Copperhead project. With the flip of a switch you go from stock exhaust to open exhaust. Were do I find one for a diesel, or do I have to get creative and make one? I would like to put the muffler back on my truck. I know... I know, but then it will sound stock, thats what this dump is for. I can doddle(?) around with some silence, and with the flip of a switch, let off some heat, orrrrr scare a ricer, other trucks, children; whichever comes first.

Hmmm, that's close. Not what I was expecting but might be worth a shot. Would there be a market for something like this? Would there be enough people that wanted something like this to justify making an common aftermarket version, instead of a Southern engineered one.

That looks awfully promising, the only problem is my truck is 3.5 inches from the turbo to the muffler. But they do have a 3.5 inch, maybe a quick email will see if it will also work on a diesel, other than the 4 incher.

they have a 3.5 in the pice for the turbo regal cutout. this goes on the end of the y-pipe though so it would not be hard to make something that would work. you could always just buy a 4" y pipe and expand up to 4" in that section. or buy a 3.5 inch y and expand the cutout up to a 4" flange.
short story long you could make it work one way or another.

Quarter Mile Performance makes an electric exhaust cutout that'll fit 4" exhaust.
