There's usually several errors in each magazine that I pick up on, and I'm no expert. Really all the magazine is is just an advertisement for the vendors. There's really no other useful info in there, and when there is we've probably already known about it here for over a year. Take away all the ads and really all you're paying $5 for is 10 pages of pictures, readers letters wondering what could be wrong w/ their truck (and it's always something so basic that anyone should know.)

Yeah, like 1/4 of all the diesel mags are pages with banks' tall tales of being the best.
I didn't like one article on a huge Ford with a 7.3. It had a spec box at the end, listing that it had an intake, exhaust and edge box adding power...then in the HP rating it claimed "in excess of 500 horsepower" Now unless they skipped a ton of other mods, there was no way a 7.3 is pumping out 500 horses with just those mods. Most will do 320-330ish. I think it's stupid to print claims like that and give false hope to would-be diesel owners thinking they'll get numbers like that on just those mods.

Taken From The Magazine
My name is Travis, and I live in North Texas, my friend and I have a Jeep/ Dodge Cummins diesel that you'd be interested in. It uses a '89 Dodge frame, a tranny, a transfer case, and engine with tons of custom work, an '89 Jeep Wrangler body that was stretched to fit, custom suspension with a 3-inch lift and 18-inch-stroke Sway Away coilover shocks, 2 1/2 ton millitary axles with a Detroit Locker in the front and a full spool in rear. And it's all riding on 49.5x20R16.5 Iroks.
The engine is a Cummins 5.9L with an Hx35 turbo, the fuel rate turned almost all the way up (the best an old VE pump can do), and an accessory drive hydraulic pump for steering.
Anyway, it blows lots of black smoke, goes way faster than you want to go in it, will go almost anywhere you point it, and sounds cool doing it. I'm a big diesel fan and was happy to see your magazine come out. We also have two twin-turbo Dodges. One has these eights-mile times to brag about: 7.92- second e.t., 1.66-second 60-foot e.t., a top speed of 92mph, and 33x12.50 mud tires DP
I couldn't find any still shot photos for you but here is a video of the rig I pulled off YouTube.

Anyways, I look forward to reading each and every diesel mag out there each and every month. I realy like "Diesel Power", they show alot of different tech articles for each brand of truck. Diesel Builder and 8-Lug are decent. I guess you can say that they are growing.

The reason I ask is because Im waiting for it to come to the magazine stands. I was told by my cousin who actually built it and the truck belongs to him is some times full of BS. I told him when I see it I will believe it. Guess I will have to eat my words now. Oh well it a nice truck.
