diesel fuel additives

I am not able to get any search engine to work here today. Thus my question: who is using a diesel additive that makes them happy, what is it and how much do you use per 30 gallons? I am looking for one that is more concentrated to take with me towing to Alaska. Thanks in advance for your usual great response.

I agree with Sur5er!

I have been using the blue label "Stanadyne Performance Formula" Diesel Fuel Additive for a long time. It is a concentrated mixture and if you buy the quart bottles you can treat FOUR (4) tankfulls with each bottle.

X 2

Blue lable Stanadyne is good stuff. I've switched to Power Services in the white bottle now though, for one reason: Regular fuel conditioners don't work at all with bio-diesel. Meaning when the diesel isn't gelling, the bio still is. (talking about winter here) Since all our diesel has a percentage of bio in it now, I use the White Power Services, 'cause it actually does work with bio....

Been running the Stanadyne Performance up here for years and am really happy with it.

You can get the big 1/2 gal(?) jug up here in Fairbnanks at the local O'reillys at a decent price too. Of course, depending on what season you come up here, a bit of 2-stroke works pretty good for less $$$.

Alterra DieselMaxx here. Testing shows it comes second only to Biodiesel. It's even better than the cult loving Opti-Lube stuff

Power Service has some benefits, but lubricity is not one of them. It is more of a solvent.

The best additive for lubricity is a 1 - 5% blend of bio diesel.

If you're filling with diesel in the 45 - 47 cetane range, there's a small increase to be seen by boosting cetane a few points. You'll not be able to discern the benefit of cetane over 50 in a daily driver.

I use Schaeffer's diesel treat.

Very true. All that is needed is one gallon of B100 to a fill up and it will give you all the lubricity you will ever need.

I have been doing some research on a lot of fuel additives and this company has very high ratings I have just ordered a fuel additive and a metal conditioner. I have read nothing but good things about their products. Give it a look
