Diablosport Predator

So I just got off the phone with one of the Diablosport tech support people and he informed me that the predator has a database of the latest program from dodge and it supersedes what ever is in your truck if you put it back to stock. So my question is, the dealer knows what program you have right. So if they see a different one in there when you take it in for service that would be an obvious hint that you had messed around with the truck right?

Would be nice if the downloaders could backup the ECU before putting whatever software they put in there. That way you could truly go back to stock. This is why I'm shopping for a 'box' rather than a 'downloader'. I'll still be able to revert to stock.

The Superchips Flashpaq does backup the original ECU program and uses it to return the vehicle to stock. Couldn't tell you if it leaves any footprints though.

Yeah, I'm on the fence between Xzillaraider and TST, still doing research......

Quad - Cheaper.. but plays with Pressure

TST - Seems like more than I need, but no pressure worries.

Thumbs up

dodgetech77, I was also told that it takes the stock program married to your truck and saves that specific program, upon taking it to the dealer just reload your stock program in!

I have it in writing from Johan, but because of disclamers am unable to post the responces my questions. I was told the program that is in the truck is saved to the tuner, and that that program will be reloaded. One thing that was said is that he was unsure about the footprint left, but said the gm and ford could see it was reflashed but not with what or by whom.

I can tell you that I put the 2 nd level in and it rocks compared to the box that was on the truck, acutually I left the box in and put it in stock tune and then programed with the predator. The shifting is top notch, I ran it hard last night and every gear pulled to 3100 rpm. The only thing I did notice is it does the same thing as the box does in high gear and that is slip or chatter I cannot tell what it is but its putting power to the pavement, I would not run the 3 rd level as I have a feeling the tranny would be sitting in the road somewhere.

I talked to the tech today and I was told that they are doing something different for our trucks. And they are installing the newest update that they have, not backing up.
They have backed up in the past but not on this programmer. Don't ask me why, he wouldn't tell me.

It wont put the tranny on the ground atleast not right away. I am currently running EZ on 2 with the diablo on extreme and it runs pretty good but without a CAI the EGT's come up as fast as the tach. I havent even tried the other two programs yet i just went right to extreme

kelschkid, its a:

PDQ Performance has designed the "VOLUMIZER" for the 2003-2004 Dodge Ram 5.9 liter Cummins. The VOLUMIZER gives maximum power and torque without compromising reliability. The VOLUMIZER is designed of lightweight aircraft quality aluminum for durability and good looks. Its compact design allows the unit to install easily. Installation is quick and simple (30 minute installation). Once the VOLUMIZER is installed you will be able to feel the difference. Throttle response will amaze you along with the low-end performance. The torque and horsepower gains are felt immediately throughout the entire rpm range. With a flip of a toggle switch, you can go from the stock Dodge setting to 60 horsepower as well as the 100 horsepower program. These changes can be done while the vehicle is running. You will not need to shut the truck off. These power gains can be felt starting from 1900rpm through redline. The significant torque created in the low to medium range helps out in the most critical times such as when passing a vehicle while you're out on the road or while you're pulling a heavy load. When you demand performance, the VOLUMIZER responds.

Hey Dodgetech77, any idea how much timing the Predator advances on each level or is it a set amount and doesn't change per level? Also, does it do boost fooling? I just ordered one and I have to know what to have Quad do to my XZT box to get them to work together.

Im not really sure how much the timing is raised in each level. i dont know about boost fooling either. All i can tell you is the with the extreme program and EZ "pressure box" on level 2 it makes a strong runner
