From Diablo to Smarty...
Right now I run the diablo sport tuner at econ. mode- they say its 100 RWHP and 170 ft/lb TQ. This is my everyday tune, towing to playing. It smokes a bit off the line. My question is I want to upgrade to the smarty (Mainly because you guys say how good it is). What is the real diffrence between running my current tune compared to lets say smarty SW # 5 : 90 Hp increase, with added timing. More smoke, power, egts? Im looking for some real input. Thanks guys

From my understanding, it's a whole different animal. The Smarty does TQ management, which the Diablo doesn't do. Also, w/the Smarty should you ever need customer serv. there will actually be someone who will help you, unlike Diablo. EGT's will be lower w/the Smarty .

I went from a DIablo to a Smarty. I like the smarty much better. The Diablo did make big power. But it did weird things to my idle, and there was no company help besides; "just unolad it and reload it." Smarty smokes so much less, there is not comparison. I am sure if you ran the TNT with a stock turbo it would smoke like crazy, but the standard DL on the website smokes very little.

i was wondering the same before i switched to the smarty from the BDTD. i said to myself, "how can BD CL be lees powerful than Smartys advertised 170?" all i have to say is, you just have to try it. WOW.

Smarty is the best and I've tried all the rest. Smoothness and low EGT's are to be expected with the smarty.
Buy it from www.smartypower.com Bob is great to deal with and he'll treat you right

I haven't updated to the newest firmware, but my Smarty smokes a ton for an auto IMO. I've never used a Diablo to compare it to, but from what I've seen on these forums the usual consensus is that the Smarty smokes more than most programmers.
