You will get good mileage with the predator but it sounds like the po po's are watching for signs of added power. I am not real up to par on the CA laws b/c i am only there for a few months out of the year and dont drive a diesel while there. If you just want mileage and xzt, ez, or puck should do the trick.

Its totally your call. If you are confident you wont dog it all the time or pull heavy on the higher settings then yes you will be fine.

Here is a quote from Diablo Sport Predator User Manual, page c. "DISCLAIMER Not legal for sale or use on any pollution controlled motor vehicles. Legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway."

I keep wondering what that white landscape material you have in your winter photos (well, maybe not you in particular). And yes, guages are always a nice thing.

2006 Honda Insight, 60 city / 66 Highway, probably pick one up for 20k USD. Of course you could get a spoiler instead... https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...hlight=spoiler or http://tinyurl.com/2rvmfb

Just got in from having a few and it's always nice to have a "soothing warm beverage" before retiring...

Hi Guys !

I live here in the Foothills of California, every Diesel Pickup I see is tuned (Smoker) CHP does not pay attention at all. In fact never heard anyone even talk about it. We don't smog Diesels out here, State is'nt regulating them---Yet.

No issues with LEO's here in Southern Cali. The only way you're going to find trouble is excessive smoke or exhibition of speed (boiling the tires).

Diesels still do not get smogged in Cali as previously stated.

Me to - so if we traveled to Ca. driving a truck that we use in the midwest - living in the midwest - we could get in trouble having a predator or such installed as well?

First of all, how would CHP prove you had a downloader? Even if they cared, they would have to search your truck and try to find some evidence and even then, how many police officers would even be able to tell? What about injectors, modded cp3's, hollowed out cats? They could be jerks and say your truck is modified so here's your ticket, but they wouldn't know for sure.
It's true, you don't have to smog diesels, so it's not like you're going to fail a smog inspection. The only person who has ever asked if I had a chip/programmer was the service writer at the local Ford dealer. I said no and took my truck to a different dealer.
