Diablo Predator RKL

I have been reading and heard may folks on here talking about this "RKL". I know that it stands for Road Kill Larry, but how do you get it. I have the predator for my 06 and I do not have this. I also do not have any of the stacker tunes and I have the Puck also. I am going on the rollers on Saturday and I would like to give it a good show. I do know that if I use it very often I will definately need a new clutch, I am saving for one currently. So I guess that I just want to know how I get RKL. I am picking up the cord to connect to the computer tonight on my way home so that I can up-load if needed. Please help me with this issue, I would like to be able to have this for the rollers.

You need to send an email to Johan at Diablosport. Don't know if you can get it that quick though.

not to high jack this thread but can you guys that have the stacker tell me these things....

does it boost fool?
does it have adjustable speed/rev limiter features?
does it change tire size in the ABS?
does it remove torque management?
are there custom tunes to be had other than what available on their site and forum ?

Thanks !

#1 - NO, Get a boost fooler from quadzilla
#2 - I don't think so but I have not really played with mine yet
#3 - Same as above
#4 - Same as above
#5 - You can contact them and they will build you one I think.

I know that it is not much help but I have only installed mine and not really played with it yet. I will need a new clutch before I really play with it.

Ok, so my dang laptop does not have the correct hook-up for the cable I got, guess I have to go back to the store.

That being said do I have to re-load the stock program to the truck before I update the predator?

thanks for the info... just so you know, the quad fooler doesn't work with plug in boxes that use the MAP.

Yes it does especially if they are not boost fooling.

The are simply connected to the MAP sensor for a reference.

Actually you can use the boost fooler with ANY plug in box but, it may not be worth the extra money!

No custom tuning for us guys with the U7131 diablos or the 06-07 guys only available for the U7130 owners or the 03-05 guys. The RKL tunes have both timing and pressure added, pressure is the same in the regular rkl and the stacker rkl programs only the timing is change less in the stacker program. The diablo does mess with the torque management. The adjustable abs tire size deal was available with the r14 update with on the fly funtction but lots of problems due to these features so they are now gone and supposidly being worked on its been 3 months now and no new updates and lots of bugs. The rev/speedlimiter isnt a concern for them as i talked with mike L thursday and he said well johans on the dyno testing other stuff maybe we will dig back into it at a later date. THANKS!!!!!!! I like the power but dont like the tech looks like diablos days are numbered.

Well, I've had problems when the MP-8 isn't connected to the MAP first. Plus, that's not the answer I got when I called the Quad tech line.

The MP-8 doesn't work unless plugged in first ( per my experience and per TS performance ) and according to the people on the other end of the tech line at Quad... the fooler HAS to be plugged in first to work ???

I sent it back anyway so the problem here is solved

Chris : thanks for the update. I sent a nice email to Johan with some good questions but, never heard back. I was on the verge of buying the Predator but, don't think I will be now.

Come on Bob !!! Marco's expertise is needed more than ever !!

Actually with the latest revision the tire size change is available. You do not have "tune on the fly" or "trial feature". After talking with Johan and Mike, it seems that they are not that concerned right now with adding those features back in. I run the latest revision without any problems, but I do wish I had "tune on the fly". I agree though; the power is great but the techs need a different approach towards things. Finish a job before starting another.

I just connected the Puck second inline and the Fooler first. No problems what so ever. I also reversed the order and still did not have any problems. I don't think it really matters but I could be wrong. Not real familiar with the TS MP8.

I totally agree with 06CTDforAU. I had the Superchips and was not happy with the neutered update/verson That took away much of the power. The techs were not responding to owners, and the forum sort of dried up. So I got a Diablo. They were not afraid of offering power and they had a forum with techs actively supporting the product. It seems soon as I got it, the techs went to other projects. I thought they would give the customers attention indefinitely. So far, I am loving the performance/non-stack tune. I would love tune on the fly (I can do with out, I guess). I would like to see the programmer retain the key counts, this is a huge one for existing customers and future sales.

I have not had a Smarty, but most people like it. If I recall it is almost $700 (I have over that in the Superchips/Diablo/puck together). But the Smarty offers one thing Superchips stopped offering a while ago, and Diablo may just have given up on too. Continuing, dedicated technical service. I wonder if in the performance automotive business world, there is a huge boom of sales when a tuner first comes out. Then, after a certain amount of units are sold, or movement slows down, it is not financially worthwhile to continue service. More money will be made upon the release of a new item.

Obviously, I was not happy when the techs said there were going to work on a tuner for the hemi for a while and Cummins owner's concerns were on the back burner.
