Death wobble
#16
One thing to check is the steering box. I know of three trucks, including one of mine, that this was the problem. I have posted this fix several times and everybody seems to think I'm crazy. On my truck the dealership replaced the ball joints, tie rods and the track bar, nothing worked until I took the truck to a different dealership which replaced the steering box and that ended the problem.
BFG`s do exasserbate worn steering components tendency to cause DW. steering stabilizer, tie rods ends, swaybar bushings, steering box, worn trackbar, and tires all can lead to: it`s the combination of these that make it difficult to say what the root cause is on your truck-rarely is it one thing that fixes it. Sometimes parts are replaced-don`t get rid of the DW (right away anyway), but most likely help(s) down the road when the main contributor is replaced. That last part is typically the one that is thought to have fixed it.
