Dead spot near 2200 rpm?
My truck seems to hit a dead spot around 2200 rpm after a long drive. It doesn't stumble, or cut out. Just seems to defuel, but not entirely. It is not showing to have any codes. I don't think it is the quad box, I just think it makes it seem more noticable.
This truck just seems to run a little different every time I get in it, and I don't like it.

Hoe, Your truck runs with sensors that utilize in reality the temperature and pressure of the air and fuel....Unless you have the exact same weather every day it will run differently especially until you get the block up to homogenious temperature which is usually water temp at normal temp plus 5 to 10 minutes. Your air and fuel filters get more restrictive from the moment you change them until they are loaded. My truck runs like crap with a new air filter until the ECM adjusts to the free flowing supply of air. Diesels are a little more sensitive to changes in temperature and atmospheric pressure because they rely on the the compression of the fuel and air mixture under high compression ratios to achieve combustion. Gassers use a spark under low compression ratios so they tend to be pretty consistent. Maybe a gasser will let you be more in control than Mother Nature. ks

At first that is what I thought it was, but it is much more severe than that. It almost completely quits fueling , and falls on its face.
I am comparing it to my '99, so that might be part of the problem.
I need to add a VA 3.2, and see if that make me feel better.

Hoe, I know alot of people complain about a 2200 rpm funky zone...try a search...there was one post about a wire chaffing on the AC condenser line or something and when the truck got to a certain rpm it got worse because the wire would vibrate more and short out. I'll look for that post also. ks
