Custom mud flaps on a budget
Well it was the sunday before the monday I was leaving for Alaska and the guy reminded me that I better make sure I have some good mud flaps or else I would bang up his new trailer...
I didn't want to put some of those wimpy mud flaps that barely cover the width of the tires on or fall off after a few miles... so I went BIG.
80" wide angle iron welded to a cut off ball mount with 24" wide truck mud flaps cut short so they dont drag on the ground.
Hopefully the flaps are big enough to make up for the fact that they aren't placed directly behind the wheels.
Note the safety chain! Safety first! What do ya think?

Those look like they'll get the job done. Most flaps (NW Custom style excluded) are too close to the tire. This presents two problems:

They get torn off when you back up as snow, mud, etc trap them against the tire.
If the flap is mounted close and doesn't reach almost all the way to the ground they miss most off the debris (coming off the tire/road intercept) and it flies back to the trailer.
On the down side, your rear rocker panels are not currently being protected from flying gravel. My last truck had the paint totally blasted off this area. You might think about installing some small factory style mudflaps or applying clear 3M type protective tape to the area.
Did you add a set screw to keep them from vibrating on the receiver as you roll down bumpy roads?
