Cool Custom Audio install in 2007 Quad - PICS

Hi, I have started a project of installing a high end audio system and wanted to share it for installation tips and to show my system to you guys. The idea is to display different aspects of the installation in a day by day basis, trying to complete the installation in less than 7 days.

The main purpose of the system is to try to keep everything as stock as possible, or maybe to make it look as stock as possible ...., so most of the system will be hidden or will have a stock look.

The installation is being done at a local audio shop, they are an authorized reseller of Directed Electronics.

The system will consist of:

ORION 10 Inch 500 Watt RMS 2 Ohm Subwoofer x 2 (Under the seat subs)
ORION HCCA 6.2 Component Speaker set x 2 (Front doors and kick panels)
ORION 5.25" coaxial speaker set C2.54 set (Rear doors)
Kenwood TV-CD-DVD 7" LCD Head Unit
Kenwood KCA-iP500 iPod Control Interface
Kenwood KTC-V500N TV tuner
Kenwood Rear view camera
Phoenix Gold ZX-475 4x75 RMS Amplifier
Phoenix Gold ZX-600 1x1,200 RMS Amplifier
Phoenix Gold Octane 2x80 RMS Amplifier
Custom made subwoofer box
Stinger 1.5F Capacitor, distribution blocks and fuse holders

Also, the following adapters were bought for the installation:

Chrysler Navigation Bezel
Double din radio adapter for navigation bezel
Q-Logic Kick panels

So here we go

PART ONE - Preparing the car.

First thing to do, is take everything out !! All seats, folding table under the rear seat, door panels, center console, etc, etc, etc.

Before:

After:

Will post more soon ...

Part 2: Starting the Subwoofer box.

The Subbox will be made from a combination of fiberglass and MDF. The first part of this was to remove all carpeting from the area under the rear seat and cover it with the first coats of fiberglass, so that the box will be attached perfectly to the car after it is done.

Each sub requires 0.5 - 0.7 cubic feet, so they will work very good on this setup.

This has to be one of the first things to do, since the box need to dry, then apply more fiberglass, then dry again, and then start working with it. So a lot of time is spent just waiting for it to dry, time that its used in other areas of the installation.

These are the subs:

This is the first coat of fiberglass, waiting for it to dry...

The fold flat is gone.

Can't have the fold flat because we need that space for the subbox height.

Thanks, but I am located in Costa Rica, so shipping for the fold flat would be more expensive than getting one in the US !
