Depends on the setup of the other truck. In my old ford, I raced a AWD 1500 reg cab hemi and lost by a hundreth of a second. That specific day I had just dynoed at 332/786. That same day my best friend dynoed his 04.5 dually 6speed at 332/791 and his fastest run was 6 tenths of a second slower than my run. It should be close if you are racing a 3/4 ton hemi.

My friends 05 1500 QC SB hemi did 15.7 stock and my 06 RC LB dually did 17.2although he made several runs and I only made one and could have improved my 2.9 60ft if I had a few more.

With the Smarty only swinging 35s with a 4.5 inch lift and the old handshaker, I was able to get a 15.1. I think you are going to need a tuner to be able to hang... Now, throw a 10K trailer behind both trucks, different story...

What year is his truck? I had an '03 that would only turn 16.20s but the new ones run 15.50s and if it's a regular cab it will be even faster yet. If it's an older truck and you might stay close if you can row the gears like a pro, but he'll still get you. If it's a new truck he's going to stomp you.

Before my previous Diesel truck, I had a 2x4, short bed, single cab, w/3.92's, and lil' tires. It was like a lil' camaro or mustang. Much faster than either my 04.5 QC, 2x4 or current truck w/o a programmer. Even w/programmers, a Diesel w/a stick is not a killer strip stormer.

I had a guy that worked with me with a bone stock 06 long bed 4 door dodge 4x4 auto cummins and he raced a v6 short box std cab 04 dodge and won.....barely. But he also raced the same guys 2001 chevy 4 door 3/4 4x4 with a 454 and won. Only your prides at stake. But the numbers arent in your favor.

Thumbs up

My Bully Dog worked great in my '06, but its not putting out near the same power in my '04. You can pick up a BD in the classifieds here for about $300. That should put you in front of a stock Hemi. It did for me.

Timmer, if you had a fresh stock auto, and did a boosted 4x4 launch perfectly where you built 1-2 psi pre stage and maxed out at 10-12 psi as you launched so TQ Management didn't steal all of your go, you might beat a short wheel base hemi in the 1/8 mile. No way you can touch him in the 1/4 mile with a hand shaker. I bet that I'd have a hard time beating a newer hemi in the 1/4, rowing a diesel like a sports car is an abusive "art" that few have the patience and dollars to master.
