Could Prefilter socks restrict air flow?
I am running ****** Whistler and LUV it!. Awsome and Cheap. After washing my amsoil prefilter sock(blue) the other day i took it upon myself to blow air threw it. abviously its got small holes and is porous but i felt it restricted my air flow from my mouth when i put it up to my mouth and blew. could it really be that it restricts? By the way how do you all clean your dry blue amsoil reusable air filters? do you blow compressed air from inside out?

If you have a large filter, the prefilter shouldnt be that much of a restriction.
Even still, its worth the extra filtration sometimes.
To clean the amsoil filters, just use compressed air and blow it off from both outside and inside, just dont use too much air pressure(I use 20-30psi)

I know when I run my ATV with a K&N and prefilter in a dusty area that the prefilter loads up and restricks air to the motor. Was fouling plugs and had to take it off and everything was good again. I usually wash them by hand with soap and water and let dry.

I think they cause a huge restriction but in dusty areas its worth it. I put my pre filter on if I'm going to the sand dunes but take it off when I get back home. I do notice a difference in the sound also, its alot quieter with the prefitler on.

Filter socks are very restrictive on my ATV's. I never ran one on my truck but like stated before it causes enough restriction on my Hondas to foul plugs. Do you have a filter restriction gauge? You could tap your whistler pipe and use the factory unit to check restriction. Then you will know for sure.
