Well I'm running just their valve body and my tranny is holding 438hp/996tq and isn't slipping. Rjohnson's DTT is holding 624hp/1380tq. Jim Fulmer is holding 873hp. The thing about DTT is you can't just buy their TC and VB. Your gonna have to build the tranny. Give Stefan a call at DTT and talk to him. I'm having DTT build my tranny in september. I've never heard a single bad thing about them.

I tried to order a TC from Stefan and he flat out said no because it could trash the front pump. Then I talked to my builder and he said that you'd have to go and do an update kit which includes better seals and other stuff and then you could run it. But just running it on the factory stuff doesn't work. IIRC, DTT uses more pressure than the other guys to keep the TC locked up and holding and the added strain could damage something.

And what's to be confused about my tranny holding 438/996? I dynoed it this weekend and that's what it's been putting down for the last 2 or 3 months. I let my buddy with a built tranny drive it (since he would know what a non slipping tranny felt like) and he said other than the higher stall it feels perfectly fine. It doesn't shudder in any gear nor while in lock up. The fluid is still nice and red and unburnt. The scary thing though is that the VB is only setup for 350hp.

The power is not the confusing part, it is that you contradicted yourself. You said you cannot just get a converter and VB and then in the next sentence you said all you have is a VB. Get it?

Ooops. Sorry. What I meant to say is that you can't get the normal converter/vb package like other companies sell. You can buy just the valvebody though by itself but to run a TC you need to update a couple of things.

Travis, you might be able to get away with just a valve body. I'd call up stefan at DTT and talk to him and see what he says.

I talked to Stephan a couple weeks ago and he was willing to sell me the converter and VB. He said he would only warranty the converter though, but he did not seem to think there would be a problem on my 06.

I know he wouldn't sell me the tc because he said it would trash the front pump. I know the 48re's are a completely different animal than my 47 and yall have better internals. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna be using one of yall's stock drums instead of a billet 47re drum cause it's cheaper and will hold the power I have now just fine.

DTT has always been great to do business with. They have gone out of there way to make sure that everything is working correctly for me. I do not know how doing just the TC and valve body works out, because I had them do the full tranny at about 30K miles. DTT is constantly improving their products, and I have one of their lastest TC's, and it amazes me how much of a change can be done with just a converter. A lot more goes on inside of a TC them most people think.
