I have some additional information. The truck is local to me. These injectors had under 50 miles on them. GMCTD was spot on about water doing this kind of damage. We have determined that water was the cause after the tank was dropped and the goo and water was found.

I will have the repair photos up next week.

Interesting info Don.
So then there is really two separate issues with the CR systems.
Cracked bodies ( extreme RP, perhaps spikes?) and worn tips from inadequate filtering ( water seems to be the worst offender?)
Whats you take on additives like Howes that break down the water and push it thru? It would seem that would be detrimental in these newer systems?

so is don saying no pressure boxes? i run a edge juice attitude. That only does timing and duration does it not? or does it change rail pressure also?

also my numbers (before my engine blew up)were different than other 2004.5 numbers. I have the 325 HP HO and my rail numbers were 6-7000 psi idling and like 14,000 psi on highway cruising empty. maybe 17,000 towing. Don said 20,000 is the pressure cruising empty. is my cp3 weaker than everyone elses?

Thats the same with me i idle at 6-700kpsi, cruise at 1700-1800kpsi, 2600kpsi at WOTand only see 21-2200kpsi when giving more throttle than necesarry on a regular basis. I love to run higher rail pressure for milage and power, but how much is to much. Also those numbers are my quad X2 pressure only on pl03

For a size reference, the damage you see is in an area smaller than a pin head.

Photo 1 is 10 power. Photo 2 is 30 power.
