Commander Screen Dark
#2
It might darken up a little but, it should still be readable. The temps on the dash are probably over 130-140 degrees.
Once you get just a little air in the cab it should go right back to normal.
Now, when I say it darkens up, it should not go black or make it to where you cannot read it or anything.

Nope, it is just hot on the dash! These are high temp screens which means they won't black out but, lots of heat will make them slightly darker.
We have actually cooked them in our temp chamber for a long time and once they cool off they are perfectly normal. I think we ran them up to 125 C for over a week without any issues at all.

I just sent an E-Mail to Jeremy about this. Mine gets very dark but readable only in the upper left quadrant. The whole right side gets darker but the upper left quadrant gets the darkest with the screen very hot just in that area after 10-15 minutes. It will return to normal after shutting of the truck for a while and it cools down. I had read where this was happening in older units but this is a new replacement unit I just got this week. I have not had it on for any longer than 15 mins until this afternoon we are going on a short trip. Hope it does not melt.

It gets 110 ish out here, so the inside of my cab I'd guess is in the 130's.
After putting the update on, no more issues.

Just FYI the newest updates are on the web and if you have the dark spot in the upper left hand corner this will solve it 100%.
I have mentioned this before but, the dark spot is caused by the way we were pulsing the buzzer, go figure!
