Commander Questions
Just installed an X2 towing module and Commander. Just wondering about normal values and readings, warnings and defueling. What is normal when driving with no loads? Where should I set my warnings and defueling settings??? Sorry if I am not so well informed....

Make sure you set the Commander up for your year/model truck. 55 lbs. seems awful high. You might not have it set up right. I've never seen over 45lbs. but an '03 & an '06 are 2 different animals.

I think your right....I did e-mail quad to find out the proper setting for my module...but I am not getting any of the led lights they are saying I should in the instructions. They don't have the instructions for the X2 done so they send the old ones... When I turn the key on all I get is one red flash...??? :-( I can't really tell a difference when driving the truck. But I do like the commander and the readouts!!!! I feel a little more informed. Everything seems to be working o.k..My settings are where they told me to put then for the year make and module. But I still see boost at 55 when I really get on it...Don't know...

Hopefully someone w/an '03 will chime in 'cause I don't think you could be really getting 55 lbs. w/stock turbo. I know the XZT does some boost fooling but if you haven't done any modding w/your wastegate, that's really high. Under 'Hardware' is where you can set it up for your 'module' & for an '03 CTD.

thats weird,i have an 04 and i modded my wastgate and i have a pred on rkl and an x2race and i cant see 55psi,i can see 40 but not much more, did u update the camander to use all 5 settings on the x2?if not u only get 3 settings, read the rail pres, when u go to higher settings on the x2 the rail pres should go higher too, stock i can see 17k but with the x2 on 5 i see 27k eeeeek.thats pretty high, somtimes i cant feel the dif between settings unless im getting on her,the x2 seems like its a high end box not much low end grunt.

I had my wastegate completely unhooked for awhile and could only get about 38-39 with the quad Hotrace programs. I'm thinking that maybe there is a problem in the map sensor connections.

I have a 03 and never have I seen over 38psi boost. I have a mechanical gauge that in theory should be more accurate than an electronic one. Poss there is a problem with the sensor itselff giving you false readings.

Think I need a new sensor.....I have tried everything and still the same. Whats your boost at idle??? I am seeing 10 to 12 all the time....Any ideas where to get one fairly reasonable???? And is the Map and Boost sensor the same thing???

Yes....same thing. I would want a scanner hooked up to know for sure what the ecm is seeing from the MAP sensor. Obviously with everything else unhooked! If it is still reading high, then yes....bad sensor. If not, then you need to look for a partially grounded wire, poor connection, or connector installed backwards, connector installed in the wrong sequence, ect.
