Commander on A-pillar ?
I shaved off the back clip thingy & used the velcro it came with but it just won't stay tight. There is a gap between the holder & the Comm. 2x's as thick as the 2 pieces of velcro. I have to push it in every time I get in the truck. What have ya'll done to make it fit better? Also, do ya'll have about a 3/8" gap @ the top of your A-pillar piece that holds the Comm. near the windshield? I'm sure I'm being over **** but I think it looks pretty crappy.

I never cut the back tabs off mine and just added another layer of velcro to the back of the Commander. It doesn't fit tight because of the tabs and extra velcro, but it's never fallen out and I've pulled on it to make sure it was attached. Like you, I always seem to be pushing it back in. If you figure out a solution let us know.
As for your second question, my A-pillar mount fits nicely along the windshield, but it never did fit tight against the existing A-Pillar (1/4"-3/8" gap). It's also developed a warp from the desert sun beating down on it. I thought I would try and heat it up with a heat gun or ? to see if I can straighten it out and possibly add some double sided tape the backside to get it to fit better along the windshield.

I have the same problem you guys have. It sticks out to far and I have had to push mine back in several times. I was thinking about what to do about it on the way home today. At this point I am open to suggestions.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks like I do! EDR, not fitting tight against the orig. A-pillar is what I was talking about. Let's see where this goes! I think the double-sided tape on the A-pillar might be good as long as it holds real good.

I shaved the clip on the back of my Commander and used the velcro - - sticks in tight, not a problem. My pillar has about a 3/8" gap but I haven't taped it yet. DS tape is definitely the way to go, or just a double sided adhesive (no reinforcement material - a lot thinner).
