Commander + 2003 6-sp truck...what to do with tranny temp probe

I have the commander setup with the XZT2 box. Since I have a manual tranny...what the heck am I supposed to do with the temp probe? Seems kinda dumb to measure tranny temp in a manual....can I measure oil temp or something

Thanks

i bought a differential temp gauge, its sender fits perfectly in the extra location on top of your oil filter housing. works great as engine oil temp gauge.

I think it will. I just picked up an X2 and Commander from Lary and I was wondering if I should bother doing anything with the trans temp feature.....seems like a neat idea to just use it for engine oil temp since I have a 6 spd too. I will look into that tonight.

You can use it for oil temperature or diff temp. I think that is actually what Quad advertises it as; trans temp or oil temp.

*Update*

It works fine. I installed the tranny temp sender in one of the two 1/8" pipe ports on the top of the oil filter head and it reads engine oil temp just fine. The temp sender is also 1/8" NPT so you just remove the pipe plug and thread the sender in. I did have to lengthen the purple sender wire, though.
