Cold air Intake upgrade???
Right now i have a K&N drop in air filter with the factory air box drilled out. I wanna hear the Turbo. Im going to remove the silencer ring as soon as I buy a CAI. Is the AEM bruteforce or should i upgrade to the workhorse or different brand??? Thanks

I asked the same question to the guys at NADP and they said after testing the AEM they will not stock it. It does not get anywhere near the cfm of the oiled filters, it is barely over stock. also, until you get around 450hp or better, stick with the replacement filter and stock air box, there will be no sound or performance difference with the open air, it only looks better. tested on a '05 cummins.

Maybe no performance difference but you will hear a sound difference. After I put mine on it was night and day. Without the silencer ring it's almost too loud. I've grown to really like it though.

I had an AFE stage3 for 1 day. Sounds like you're standing next to a 747. It was just as loud with everything turned off as well. The hood didn't close just right either - added about an 1/8th gap.

Just my own observation .02 worth. The intake tube between the air box and turbo is designed to muffler the turbo noise. I don't think it was designed for air flow at all. There was a thread in general diesel about too cold of air and from what was said you really don't gain anything from cooler air, you need more air not cooler.

I've tried most of the setups. I own the S&B, AEM Bruteforce, Scotty 3 and the BHAF. I think my next and last will be the new AFE PRO DRY stage two system (Part # 51-10932). Just as soon as I can find it. But I'm currently using the S&B with the Amsoil Nano cone universal. Boy does that flow compared to the AEM's Dryflow.

I have been killing myself trying to finish my trucks tow toy before the baby gets here (due date 3/30/07) so it's kinda been getting put aside for now
but I will get one made....soon
I have been playing with more stage II ideas but you will have to wait and see what I come up with later
like I said been way busy with the trucks tow toy.
