Clutch question

So, how many of you guys are jelous that I just got my new SBC DD?

I am pretty excited BUT I cant start the tear down till Firday night.

Any idea how long it should take me considering I have only been in on 2 clutch swaps in my life?

One with a 2wd 76 1ton ford and the other on a 4wd cj7

140 pounds in this TINY package! That box was the most dense thing I ever had to lift! It was rediculous!

I got a G56. It came in two boxes. The hydros, crank spacer, some bolts, throw out bearin, and line up tool in one box, I dont know what it weighed, maybe 15-20 lbs. And the clutch and flywheel in the other box. On the label it said 105lbs and I believe it. I caried it about 30 yards from the garage to the truck and that was about all I wanted to carry it.

I am gonna take my factory/straight pipe exhaust off before I start takin the trans out. I got a new 5" system sittin in my kitchen waiting to be put in, and my clutch is now in my livin room. I will put the 5" system on after the trans goes back in. I also have a plate/strap comin for the freeze plug that I will do while the trans is out.

JD what trans do you have?

thanks for the help eveyone has givin me and thanks for the luck #2 and Chet

Will

It is crazy heavy, and the fact that it is so small, makes it more difficult to handle.

At the gym I went to in college we had a couple of 100# plates. Looked just like the 45s but about twice as thick. They where bigger than the flywheel/clutch combo and honestly didnt feel as heavy.

Good thing this is goin to be bolted behind a cummins, I dont know if a lesser motor could turn it over.
