Clutch engagement height
Just installed a new valair dual disc organic clutch in my truck. I like the clutch other than the height that it engages at. My clutch seems to do about 90% of the engagement in the last 10% of the clutch travel. There is no peddle travel after the engagement. Do any of you think that this is a problem? That seems like a thin clutch disc or a problem with the pressure plate. I have adjusted the master cylinder linkage at least 20 times and cannot get it to act like I think it should. I talked to valair and they said to drive it and see. I even talked to Peter at south bend, he said to cut the push rod in the slave cylinder down about a half inch. I did that and it did not seem to have any effect other than lowering the entire clutch travel. By the way what a great guy, I did not even buy my clutch from him and he still helped me.

Read it. Yes, that guy had issues. The clutch should be fully engaged with at least 1/2 in to an 1 in. of play at the top of the pedal. If it is still quite stiff up top, You will need to do what he recommended.
