Clutch?
#16
I know, I'm just like you, the extra pressure really is the culprit to my problems, if I turn it down to 0 it will hold just fine. I can slip mine on sw 5 beta 4.3 and the mp-8 on 50%. But I don't want the extra clutch noise that comes with the DD. I shoulda sucked it up and got the FE.
That 62/71-13ss aint getting toasty yet?

The 62 is working good for the way I drive. Not many long WOT throttle runs for me.Just short romps on back roads.Around 1300 is all I ever see.I'm sure if I put it on a dyno on kill(if I had a clutch that would hold)it would be a little toasty.I will have twins and a DD as soon as this sorry economy picks up.

Rip, do you think I'd be slipping adding an MP8 to get up near 500 hp?
(Do you think the mp8 will give me the extra 60 hp I'm looking for?)

Not at first you won't, when I put mine on it held perfect but then I startd getting wild and enjoying it, few boosted launches and dumping the clutch, power shifting, and its held respectably. But if I ain't careful it will slip a little. I think you will be fine if you are conserative with it, and ys I think the Mp-8 has the potential to give you 60hp, but I'm thinking a 40hp gain is about what I got out of it. It will give you more response throughout the power band, especially down low where its needed to spin some of these bigger turbos up. Thta's where you will benefit.
Thing is, I'm not sure how much power I'm running exactly, only a guess, but I wouldn't think I was past 500-525hp. itell you though, it has made me a better driver, made me more focused on the transition and driving habits that could be the culprit of my slipping, like a lazy clutch foot.

I have the 3250 and love it. I have at least 8 pulls on it, 1 dyno run (not since the smarty and turbo), and 1 boosted launch at the track. Still holding up like new. I know it is not recommened for sled pulling but when I screw it up I will prob. upgrade to a 3600 or 3850. I have at least 15k on it too.
